Zelestra has secured 60MW of new solar capacity in Italy’s FER X auction across eight projects.

The Italian energy agency GSE confirmed the awards on 1 December 2025, with 80% of the projects located in northern Italy.
Zelestra said all eight plants are scheduled to be operational by the end of the first half of 2028.

The company added that Italy is a key growth market, where it holds a pipeline of more than 1.4GW of BESS and solar projects and recently announced an initial offtake agreement for a 2GWh BESS scheme in the north.

“It has been a year of fast progress in Italy for Zelestra, and the FER X success means we are also finishing 2025 on a high,” said Eliano Russo, Zelestra’s country manager in Italy.

“The new projects build on the two solar plants we are already constructing in Puglia and Sicily, broadens our geographical footprint into the Peninsula, and complements our multi-technology approach,” added Russo.
